Volcanoes are the most powerful natural events on earth. They contain more energy than earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis. Volcanic landscapes are some of the most beautiful on earth. Many of the great mountains, lakes, and islands of the world were formed by volcanic activity. Over three quarters of the world's surface has been modified by volcanic eruptions or lava flows. Most volcanoes form at the junction of tectonic plates in subduction zones, or rift zones. A smaller number of volcanoes are located at hotspots and do not correspond the tectonic plate boundaries.

Volcano eruption - John Seach
There are over 1500 active volcanoes in the world. These have erupted within the last 10,000 years and have a reasonable chance of erupting in the future. In fact, geological records in Hawaii show that some volcanoes can erupt after being dormant for one million years! The largest number of active volcanoes are located around the Pacific Ring of Fire.
John Seach specializes in reaching the world's most active volcanoes. We will get footage from as close to the crater as safely possible.
Volcanoes erupt in a variety of ways. Ash emissions, lava flows, pyroclastic flows, and strombolian eruptions are some of the most obvious eruption types.
Other less known styles are subglacial, phreatic, surtseyan and phreatoplinian.
Volcanoes don't always fit into simple classification styles, and regularly produce new and exciting events.
